My name is Thomas Ashton, a Marine Biologist - turned wildlife filmmaker. My documentaries are born out of love for the natural world, and all its mysteries.

Brisbane’s Native Wildlife

In ‘Brisbane’s Native Wildlife’ we journey through Brisbane’s forests, coast and city parks - meeting the animals who call Brisbane home. From curious brush tail possums to migrating humpback whales, this 30 minute documentary brings a new perspective to how we view our wild neighbours.

This documentary is my first attempt at a longer format production. It is also the debut episode of ‘The Wild Next Door’ - a series where we explore the local wildlife in popular Australian/worldwide destinations.

Australia’s Ancient

Rainforests

Australia is home to the world’s oldest rainforests - Some of which have existed since the Gondwana era. In this short documentary we discover both the newest & oldest residents, calling this ancient land home.

Starring Monarch butterflies, Carpet Pythons & Saltwater crocodiles, ‘Australia’s Ancient Rainforests’ features both macro and massive wild species.
